2006China Auto Parts& Component Supplier Convention was opened in Suzhou National New and Hi-tech Development Zone. At the convention, more than 300 auto parts and components manufacturers from home and abroad held business talks with over 100 purchasers such as GM, Changan Fort, Renault etc.
The convention was co-hosted by China Automotive Technology & Research Center, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Juangsu Provincial Economic &Trade Commission and Suzhou Municpal People¡¯s Government. Besides the large scale exhibitions, a special auto part and components forum was held this afternoon, gathering numerous business leaders of major manufacturers, purchasers, government officials in charge of the auto industry as well as experts to talk about the future development of China¡¯s auto parts and components sector.
Besides the exhibitions and the forum following the last convention¡¯s format, this convention also includes a recruit-fair for auto parts manufacturers as a special activity, with 112 booths for recruitment, participated by over 100 auto parts manufacturers. The recruit-fair, under the background of the Auto Parts& Component Supplier Convention and based on the talent-riched Suzhou, has become a highlight of the convention.
Suzhou National New and Hi-tech Development Zone, as one of the sponsors of the convention, is one of the key regions for auto industry in Suzhou. Auto parts and components have become one of the pillar sectors for the National New and Hi-tech Development Zone to upgrade its industrial structure. At present, there are over 130 auto parts and components manufacturers from 20 countries and regions such as the US, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Taiwan and Hong Kong etc. Products include chassis, engine, braking system, steering system, automotive electronics, interiors and automotive air conditioning system etc.
The most striking feature of the auto parts and components manufacturers in Suzhou National New and Hi-tech Development Zone is the high technology content. There are a number of world -leading products, such as the Honeycomb Ceramics manufactured by Japanese NGK, accounting for 40% of world market share; LEC SCF (Solar Control Film) interlayer film for front windshield made by Sekusui Chemicals (Suzhou) Co., one of the three makers in the world and with the largest production of LEC SCF (Solar Control Film) interlayer film. The Raybestos clutch parts made in Raybestos (Suzhou) Co. have been used by Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW, Dongfeng and China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co. Ltd as well as exported to more than 30 counties and regions.
It is said that a special auto parts and components industrial park has been set up in Suzhou National New and Hi-tech Development Zone, focusing on the R&D of advanced automotive electronics in the hope of establishing a auto parts and components R&D platform. Meanwhile, supported by more than 200 products made by the present auto parts and components manufacturers, Suzhou New and Hi-tech International Auto City has been set up to provide an integrated platform for exhibitions and services with the combination of both the auto industry and the auto culture.
