The first ¡°China Embroidery Art Festival¡± was opened in Suzhou Hi-tech Park on Oct. 5th and will last for three months. Masterpieces of China¡¯s four most famous embroidery artists are exhibited in the festival.
¡°China Embroidery Art Festival¡± is co-sponsored by China Art and Craft Association, Administrative Committee of Suzhou Hi-Tech Park, China Art Gallery, Jiangsu Provincial Art and Craft Association and Suzhou Embroidery Research Institute. During the art festival, a number of events will take place such as the Forum on Embroidery Culture Development and the Inauguration of China Embroidery Gallery etc, which will demonstration the essence of embroidery culture and an ¡°embroidered Suzhou¡± integrating hi-tech and traditional art.
Suzhou Hi-tech Park, the host of ¡°China Embroidery Art Festival¡± boasts not only hi-tech and new industries but also human resources and mountain-water culture of the southern bank of the Yangtze River. Recently, the movement of ¡°starting business for the second time¡± has promoted the scientific innovation and cultural renaissance. ¡°Double-sided embroidery¡± is the best type of embroidery of Suzhou, and the ¡°double-sided embroidery of economy and culture¡± has been the popular concept. The protection and use of cultural ecology has been another interpretation of new and hi-tech by excavating, collecting and integrating of traditional culture as well as promoting cultural industries.
