The Introduction of Innovation of Suzhou New and Hi-Tech Development Zone and the Promotion of Suzhou Science and Technology Town was held in Shenzhen on Oct. 24th, at which, Hong Kong Science and Technology Park signed contract with SND for entering the Science and Technology Town.
In order to accelerate science and technology innovation, SND has built the Science and Technology and Southern Jiangsu Industrial Science and Technology Institute with the support of Jiangsu Province and Ministries concerned, which serve as the carriers of key science and technology innovations and new pillar for independent innovation as well as the first-class leading new and hi-tech industrial base.
Suzhou Science and Technology Town，the scientific and technological innovation project of provincial and municipal level as well as one of the ten projects with “international emerging scientific and technological city’ of Suzhou, has been listed in the Eleventh Five-year Plan of Suzhou Municipal and Jiangsu Province. With the accumulated investment of over 5 billion RMB and three years of construction, comprehensive R&D building, independent R&D building and science and technology center integrating apartment, store, financial service and entertainment of more than 200,000 sqm2 have been put into use. The central ecological leisure resort has also been formed, making the whole area suitable for living, starting businesses and scientific innovation.
At present, over 40 well-known research institutes have signed to enter the town. Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, set up by Hong Kong Special Administration Region, started operation May 7th 2001 is leading Hong Kong to be the scientific innovation center of Asia in the field of key science and technology.
